概要 Artificial intelligence (AI) has received increased attention recently in medical fields. Ontologies are defined as explicit formal specifications of the terms in the domain and relations among them For the introduction of AI to surgical training and certification, ontological and semantic description of clinical training procedure is required. This study suggests a method of ontological analysis for the basic skills of endoscopic surgery. Surgeon’s procedure during the basic training in the training box, such as “Pegboard”, “Pattern cutting” and “Suturing” are analyzed and described in the manner of ontological procedure. The ontological descriptions of surgical procedure are possible. Ontological description of the procedures of endoscopic surgery can be applied in many areas, computerized evaluation of medical training and certification, automation systems for the robotic surgery, and check and alert system for medical safety.
