| 概要 | In commercial production of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), the use of economic and ecological substrate is essential, and hemicellulose containing xylose is a promising candidate. However, xylose is not easily utilized by microorganisms. Therefore, we isolated a bacterium, Enterobacter sp.TF, which grows at a high specific growth rate in xylose medium. Since this strain does not accumulate PHA, we introduced the genes for biosynthesis of PHA from Ralstonia eutropha. As a result, the recombinant strain accumulated PHA from xylose. |
