| 概要 | Graphical rendering of aura is often used for indicating the character’s strength in mangas, animes, and video games. We propose a method for visually rendering aura in real-time 3D graphics. The aura is in general visualized as a blob around the character. The aura shape resembles a flame or steam as it radiates from the inside to the outside of the character, which changes periodically while maintaining a constant size. This method controls the shape of the visualization of aura using Morphological operation based on the character’s shape. It applies the Dilation, which is a type of morphological operations, with taking the vague and periodic elements specific to the aura shape into account. This method can be parallelized with a pixel shader (or fragment shader) and can be executed at high speed. |
