概要 We focused on the use of hydrogen-dissolved solution for hemofiltration. We specifically evaluated the hydrogen-dissolved blood filtration replacement fluid preservation method and the hydrogen permeability of the hemofiltration membranes. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report focusing on the hydrogen-dissolved hemofiltration replacement fluid. Methods: To define the shelf life of the hydrogen in solution, we assessed the influence of dissolved hydrogen concentration and the composition of the substitution solution stored at room temperature and under refrigeration. Moreover, we measured the hydrogen concentration of the water hemofiltration replacement fluid that passed through the hemofiltration membrane to assess the hydrogen permeability of the hemofiltration membrane using the hemofiltration simulation circuit. We compared three kinds of hemofiltration membranes: polymethyl methacrylate, sodium-acrylonitrile methallylsulfonate copolymer (AN 69 ST), and polysulfone (PS) membrane. Findings: The residual hydrogen concentration of the hydrogen-dissolved hemofiltration replacement fluid stored for 4 weeks was 1% at room temperature (23 ± 3℃) and 19% at refrigeration (4℃) with respect to the initial value. No changes were observed in the composition concentration of hydrogen-dissolved blood filtration replacement fluid. Although all tested blood membrane filters demonstrated hydrogen permeability.
