概要	Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is an opportunistic pathogen causing pneumonia and bloodstream infections, but quantitative monitoring in the water environment has not been conducted. In this study, Stenotrophomonas spp. in treated wastewater and natural water were quantified using a selective agar medium. Most blue colonies on VIA agar plates were identified as Stenotrophomonas spp. The number of Stenotrophomonas was approximately 1/50 of the coliform group bacteria. Over 97% of isolates were susceptible to sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim and levofloxacin.
